Mach 7 gun the Navy can kill 100 kilometres (CNet)

The world can never have enough guns, at least not if they embody exciting new ways to kill people and things that have wonderful air in movies. Here is a weapon which seems to be the pure embodiment of canon pleasure.

It is being tested by the US Navy, and it seems to have some pulsating specifications. It does rely on an explosive charge to propel a ball to an attacker. Instead, Fox News informs me he expels balls along parallel tracks. Bullets, thanks to the gay push electromagnetic current spring at speeds up to Mach 7.

Rear Admiral Nevin P. Carr, Jr., the head of marine research, which has a talent for understatement, says Fox News: "it is a term overallocated, but it changes really several games."

It would be the game of war, probably. For the current distance that a railgun accelerate its bullets with precision would be about 13 miles. This electromagnetic model appears to offer precision of up to 100 miles and counting.

I know that some will be cheered by the prospect that one day they may be sitting on a beach in far north of San Francisco and be able to pull someone or something in Silicon Valley. Therefore they feel a shiver on learning that today, the Navy has successfully to effect a 33-megajoule fired, which seems to be a megajewel in the Crown of the Navy.

Persons concerned about defense spending should be happy that the railgun should be much less expensive than a conventional weapon. This means that a ship would carry explosives, which potentially means that it is more a potential powder keg.

Navy continues to work on the electrical upgrade needed to make this new standard-issue pistol. Every day that passes, life always starts more to look like a video game. At least the players are ready for the future.
